Legal disclaimer for the NSARF 3D Digital Book Model
Disclaimer – NSARF Digital 3D Educational Book & Learning Resource Model
The digital books, 3D flip-book presentations, interactive learning materials, visual layouts, animations, navigation interfaces and technology-enabled educational formats presented through the NSARF Digital Education Model are intended solely for educational, academic, research, training, awareness and knowledge-sharing purposes.
Where any educational material is based on, derived from, linked to, or presented with reference to textbooks, syllabi, curriculum frameworks, learning resources or other materials published by SCERT Odisha, Government of Odisha, or any other recognised educational authority, the original material remains the property of its respective copyright owner, publisher, institution or competent authority. NSARF does not claim ownership, copyright, authorship, endorsement or official affiliation in respect of such third-party materials unless expressly stated in writing.
The purpose of the NSARF platform is to provide a technology-enabled educational presentation and access model, including digital book design, 3D/flip-book presentation, structured navigation, visual enhancement and academic resource organisation. Such presentation should not be interpreted as a replacement for the original textbook, official syllabus, curriculum document, government publication or legally authorised educational resource.
All original titles, trademarks, logos, institutional names, textbook content, illustrations, photographs, diagrams, textual material and other protected elements belonging to third parties remain subject to the rights and conditions of their respective owners. No ownership or proprietary interest in third-party intellectual property is transferred to NSARF through its digital presentation.
Where permission, licence or other authorisation is required for reproduction, digitisation, adaptation, electronic publication, public communication, distribution or commercial use of any copyrighted material, NSARF shall seek to obtain the appropriate permission or licence from the relevant copyright owner or authorised institution before undertaking such use. The existence of an educational purpose does not, by itself, constitute a blanket permission to reproduce or redistribute copyrighted material. The Copyright Act, 1957 contains specific statutory exceptions and limitations, including provisions concerning educational activities and fair dealing.
The 3D digital-book format, interface design, graphical presentation, navigation structure, original explanatory content, metadata, original illustrations and other materials independently created by NSARF may constitute separate intellectual property of NSARF or their respective creators and may not be reproduced, copied, modified, republished or commercially exploited without appropriate permission.
Academic experts, subject specialists, teachers, researchers and higher-education professors contributing to the preparation, review, visualisation or interpretation of educational resources do so for academic and educational enhancement. Their participation shall not be construed as an endorsement by their university, college, government department, SCERT Odisha, BSE Odisha or any other institution unless such institutional endorsement has been expressly authorised.
The information presented through this platform is provided as an educational and reference resource. Users should consult the latest official textbooks, curriculum documents, syllabi, notifications and educational guidelines issued by the competent authority for formal academic instruction, examination preparation and regulatory purposes. SCERT Odisha itself provides curriculum, textbook and syllabus resources through its official academic channels.
NSARF makes reasonable efforts to identify sources and provide appropriate attribution wherever third-party material is used or referenced. However, if any copyright owner, author, publisher, institution or authorised representative believes that material appearing on the platform has been used without appropriate permission or attribution, they may contact NSARF with details of the relevant material and supporting ownership information. Upon receiving a legitimate notice, NSARF will review the matter and, where appropriate, take reasonable corrective action, including attribution correction, modification, restriction of access or removal of the disputed material.
No part of this educational model should be interpreted as an official publication of the Government of Odisha, SCERT Odisha, BSE Odisha, NCERT, any university, educational board or other government or statutory authority unless specifically identified as such.
This disclaimer is intended to establish the educational purpose, attribution principles, intellectual-property boundaries and responsibilities associated with the NSARF digital education initiative. It does not exclude, limit or override any rights, remedies, obligations or statutory protections available under applicable Indian law.
Important: A disclaimer alone cannot protect NSARF from copyright infringement if copyrighted textbooks are reproduced or redistributed without the required permission. In particular, converting an entire SCERT textbook into a downloadable or publicly accessible 3D flip-book can involve reproduction and electronic/public communication rights. The safer model is to obtain written permission/licensing from the relevant rights holder, or use only material for which NSARF has a clear legal basis for the intended use.
For the SCERT material, the official source identifies TE & SCERT Odisha as the State Academic Authority and describes its responsibility for curriculum and textbook development.
