Previous comparative effectiveness research (CER) studies have explored methods for patient engagement but offer limited detailed guidance about appropriate method(s) for each step of research or resources required for each method. This study provides a recommended patient engagement translation table (PETT) filling a methodological gap in CER and patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR).
