Accountable care organizations (ACOs) are groups of health care providers that work together to coordinate care with the goals of improving both quality of care and efficiency. ACOs are increasingly serving children with disabilities and special health care needs, although the effect of ACOs on their health outcomes and experiences is largely unknown.
