Shared decision-making (SDM) in health care is a process in which both patients and providers are equal partners collaborating to make health care decisions. SDM improves outcomes and quality of care; yet, few providers actively facilitate SDM. To date, few randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to improve SDM have been conducted with ethnic/racial minorities and none have been tested in behavioral health care.
