Individuals with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases who seek treatment face a rapidly changing and confusing landscape that includes multiple immunosuppressive and immunomodulatory medications, including biologics. However, use of these drugs is hindered by their high cost (approximately $30 000 per year), concerns about their effectiveness and safety, and the lack of available real-world studies to demonstrate their safety and effectiveness. In the context of a demonstration project, this study assessed the feasibility of using PCORnet®, the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network, in the context of addressing these scientific questions.
